Question 1

Does the person opening the map need an app?

Accepted Answer

Today you can open a map in your browser from a link or QR code. A future mobile app is part of PinTips’ direction, but is not available yet.

Question 2

Do they need an account to see the map?

Accepted Answer

Viewing a public map needs no account. Creating maps or saving a place to your own collection requires an account.

Question 3

Does it work on every phone?

Accepted Answer

PinTips runs in compatible browsers on phones, tablets and computers. Loading maps and content requires a connection; offline mode is not offered.

Question 4

Which language do they see it in?

Accepted Answer

The buttons and labels follow the language of their phone, between English and Italian. What you wrote stays in your language.

Question 5

Do you track whoever opens the map?

Accepted Answer

Insights shows visits and interactions in aggregate. This does not mean that no technical data is processed: the privacy policy explains the data, purposes and services involved.

Question 6

Can I edit the map after sharing it?

Accepted Answer

Yes, whenever. Whoever has the link or the QR code sees the new version the next time they open it, with nothing resent.

Question 7

How much time does keeping it updated take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the content you want to add. Start with a few places and add notes, photos and hours later, returning whenever something changes.

Question 8

Can I use it only for myself, without sharing?

Accepted Answer

You can create a map without sending its link. If it is public, anyone who obtains the link can view it: not sharing it is not access protection. Check its status in map settings.

Question 9

What is the starting point?

Accepted Answer

It is where the map opens the first time: your home, the hotel, the main square. You pick it when you create the map and you can move it later.

Question 10

Can I add my own photos to the places?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Share includes one photo per place; Connect+ includes unlimited photos. Add images you have the right to use.

Question 11

How does the open-now line work?

Accepted Answer

The status uses the opening hours entered for the place. Keep those hours accurate and current: it is not a live check that the business is open.

Question 12

Can I put the places into a route?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Create an itinerary and arrange stops manually, for example by day. Readers can open directions to a place in an external navigation app.

Question 13

Does the place data come from Google?

Accepted Answer

Search uses external services to find places and addresses. The personal notes and photos you add are your own content. Check the details before publishing a recommendation.

Question 14

Can I print the QR code and put it up at home or in my shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes, download and print the QR code. Updating the same map’s content does not require a new code. Check the link before printing and after username or map-availability changes.

Question 15

How does the link look on WhatsApp or Instagram?

Accepted Answer

Public pages provide a title, image and description for link previews. How and when they appear depends on the platform and its cache; check the message in the channel you use.

Question 16

If I change the map, does the link change?

Accepted Answer

Editing places within the same map does not change its link. Availability still depends on the map and account status; this is not a promise of permanent availability.

Question 17

What is the profile page?

Accepted Answer

It is your public page, pin.tips/yourname, with your photo, two lines about you and the maps you decided to show. Whoever opens one of your maps gets there by tapping your name.

Question 18

Can I share a map without putting it on my profile?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you take it out of the list and it stays open only to whoever has the link. If you would rather nobody opened it at all, you deactivate it.

Question 19

What is in the free plan?

Accepted Answer

Unlimited maps and places, one photo per place, itineraries, the link and the QR code, your public page and basic statistics. The map keeps the Made with PinTips line.

Question 20

What changes with Connect+?

Accepted Answer

Connect+ adds unlimited photos and Nearby searches, and more detailed insights with history. Active features are listed on the pricing page.

Question 21

What happens to my content if I go back to free?

Accepted Answer

When you move to the free plan, content beyond its limits is hidden and can become visible again with the appropriate plan. This differs from deleting an account or map, as described in the terms.

Question 22

What is the Made with PinTips line?

Accepted Answer

It identifies PinTips on the map. Plan options are those listed in the current pricing page; this is different from a custom logo.

Question 23

What is the Business plan?

Accepted Answer

Business is not available yet. Its direction concerns organisations and teams, with no promised features or release dates. Sign in from pricing to join the updates list.

Question 24

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Accepted Answer

Yes, from the subscription portal, at any time. The maps stay yours.

Question 25

Can I save a place from someone else's map?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You need an account and a destination map. Save copies one place; the copy does not follow later changes to the original. If you do not have a map yet, create one before completing the save.

Question 26

How do I use it with my guests?

Accepted Answer

You print the QR code and put it where they will see it: on the fridge, at reception, inside the welcome message. They scan it and your places are right there, nothing to download.

Question 27

I have several properties, can I make one map each?

Accepted Answer

You can create several maps, for example one per property. Team management or managing properties under a shared brand is not available today.

Question 28

Can I send an itinerary to a client?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You build the map of their trip with the stops in order, your notes and the contacts of each place, and send them the link. They open it on their phone even while out and about.

Question 29

Can the map carry my name instead of yours?

Accepted Answer

The profile and map identify the author. Removing the PinTips signature is different from adding your own logo: full custom branding and white-label are not offered.

Question 30

Can I see how many people open my guide?

Accepted Answer

You can see recorded visits and actions in Insights. One person can take several actions and the data may be incomplete; it does not measure physical visits or sales.

Question 31

Can I put sponsored places in my map?

Accepted Answer

PinTips does not offer tools to buy visibility or placement in maps. Authors curate their content, subject to the Terms of Service.
